Kisir contains a mix of tomato paste and in some versions red pepper paste &#8212; and in Turkey it varies from region to region. Classic Middle Eastern tabbouleh on the other hand is all about parsley&#8230; I&#8217;d say it&#8217;s essentially a parsley salad. That is if you are sticking to a classic version. Of course, I have my own take on it. Whether with <a href=\"https:\/\/ellerepublic.de\/en\/roasted-carrot-tabbouleh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">roasted carrots<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/ellerepublic.de\/en\/chickpea-tabbouleh-salad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">herb-loaded chickpea tabbouleh salad<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/ellerepublic.de\/en\/broccoli-tabbouleh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">broccoli<\/a> as a replacement for bulgur, I am a true fan!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where ever the inspiration comes from, this salad is truly about the bulgur and of course a generous amount of herbs and other ingredients that turn this salad into a bold celebration of texture, flavor and colour. Because bulgur (sometimes referred to as cracked wheat) has been partially pre-cooked and dried, it needs to be boiled for only about 10 minutes to be ready to eat. Think about it, that as much time as cooking pasta! And as a whole wheat grain it is way more nutritious. Bulgur is packed with a wealth of fiber, protein, and B vitamins and makes a fabulously nourishing and quick addition to any meal.
